# On-Chain Token Metadata: Trust Wallet and DEX Display

> Publish your token logo, description, and social links on-chain so Trust Wallet, DEXs, and other tools display your token with the correct information.

On-chain metadata is a set of information — your token logo, a short description, and social links — published directly to BNB Chain so that wallets and decentralized exchanges can find and display it automatically. Without it, most wallets show your token as an unknown asset with no image or context.

This is an optional paid service offered by Teron. The fee is approximately **\$3, paid in BNB**, which is transferred to Teron's cold wallet.

## Why on-chain metadata matters

When someone receives or searches for your token in Trust Wallet, MetaMask, or a DEX, the app looks for associated metadata on-chain. If none exists, your token typically shows up with a generic placeholder icon and no description.

Publishing on-chain metadata means:

* **Trust Wallet** can display your token logo and name correctly
* **DEXs and aggregators** can show your token with the right icon and project links
* Your token looks like a complete, professional project rather than an unknown contract address

<Info>
  After metadata is published, it may take some time for wallets and DEX interfaces to pick up the new information. Propagation times vary by platform — most update within a few hours, but some may take longer.
</Info>

## What you provide

When you submit on-chain metadata through Teron, you provide:

* **Token logo** — an image file representing your token (used as the icon in wallets and DEXs)
* **Description** — a short text description of your token or project
* **Website** — your project's website URL
* **Social links** — links to X (Twitter), Telegram, Discord, or other community channels

## How to publish on-chain metadata

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your token in the Teron dashboard">
    Go to [teron.io/dashboard](https://teron.io/dashboard) and find the relevant token in your deployment history. Click on it to open the token detail view.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select On-Chain Metadata">
    Click the **On-Chain Metadata** option for that token. The metadata submission form will open.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in your logo and information">
    Upload your token logo and fill in the description, website, and any social links you want to include. Take your time — review everything carefully before moving on.

    <Note>
      Once your metadata is published on-chain, it is a permanent on-chain record. Teron cannot modify or delete it after the transaction is confirmed. Make sure your logo, description, and links are correct before proceeding.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the fee">
    Teron will display the exact BNB amount required — calculated to equal approximately \$3 at the current BNB market price. This fee is sent to Teron's designated cold wallet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm payment in your wallet">
    Your wallet will prompt you to confirm the fee transaction. Verify the amount and recipient before signing.

    <Warning>
      Blockchain payments are final. Once the transaction is signed and confirmed on BNB Chain, the fee cannot be refunded. Confirm you are ready before signing.
    </Warning>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Teron publishes your metadata on-chain">
    After payment is confirmed, Teron publishes your metadata to BNB Chain. The submission is recorded as an on-chain transaction, which you can look up at any time on [bscscan.com](https://bscscan.com) using your wallet address or the transaction hash.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## After publishing

Once your metadata is on-chain, wallets and DEXs that follow the standard metadata lookup process will begin displaying your logo and project links automatically. You do not need to submit anything separately to Trust Wallet or individual DEXs — they read from the on-chain record.

Allow a few hours for the information to propagate. If your token still appears without metadata after 24 hours, contact support at [hello@teron.io](mailto:hello@teron.io) with your contract address and transaction hash.
